Intraperitoneal insulin administration in pigs: effect on circulating insulin and glucose levels

Intraperitoneal insulin boluses effectively lower glucose levels, with higher doses increasing systemic insulin. Subcutaneous insulin delivery results in significantly higher circulating insulin levels compared to intraperitoneal administration.
