  • To assess the proportion of women with recent GDM diagnoses who underwent post-partum testing.
  • To identify barriers encountered in carrying out recommended post-partum GDM testing.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of current follow-up strategies for GDM testing.

Main Methods:

  • A cohort of women diagnosed with GDM in 2017 was followed up in 2019.
  • Contact attempts included landline, mobile phone calls, and postal surveys.
  • Compliance with post-partum testing advice was the primary outcome measured.

Main Results:

  • Only 53.1% of women with GDM could be contacted for the study.
  • Of those surveyed, 62.0% completed post-partum testing.
  • Among women who hadn't tested, only 11.5% completed an HbA1c test within a month.

Conclusions:
