Background:
- Bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP9), also known as growth differentiation factor 2 (GDF2), is a member of the transforming growth factor β (TGF β) superfamily.
- BMP9 is known to play critical roles in developmental processes such as angiogenesis, hematopoiesis, hepatogenesis, osteogenesis, and glucose metabolism.
