Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the safety and reproducibility of percutaneous reduction using a novel IM device for distal fibula fixation.
  • To evaluate the time to weight-bearing (WB) and fracture union in patients treated with this IM device.
  • To analyze the outcomes of the largest case series to date using this specific IM nail.

Main Methods:

  • A retrospective case series included 51 patients with ankle fractures treated with a single IM device for lateral malleolar fixation.
  • Postoperative radiographs were analyzed to classify fracture reduction quality (good, fair, or poor).
