Summary

Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is linked to specific beta-2 brainwave patterns. Preoperative increases in right frontal beta-2 activity and postoperative decreases in left parietal activity correlate with POCD.
