Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the impact of faculty development programs on the quality of short-answer questions (SAQs) used in medical education.
  • To assess changes in psychometric properties and Bloom's cognitive levels of SAQs after FDP participation.

Main Methods:

  • A quasi-experimental study involving 37 new faculty members.
  • Analysis of SAQs from two medical blocks (Musculoskeletal and Renal) before and after an FDP workshop.
  • Evaluation using psychometric analysis (discrimination index, difficulty) and Bloom's cognitive levels.

  • Newly appointed faculty should receive FDP to enhance their skills in writing effective SAQs for student assessment.
