Understanding the roles of data controllers and processors is crucial for GDPR compliance, yet IoT actor relationships are often unclear.

Purpose of the Study:

To clarify the roles and responsibilities of actors within the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem concerning data protection.
To address the challenges in assigning accountability for privacy compliance in the evolving IoT landscape.
To investigate the impact of shifting computing paradigms (cloud to edge) on IoT actors' responsibilities.

Main Methods:

Proposed a novel five-computing layer IoT model: cloud, fog, edge, mist, and dew.
Analyzed the interactions and relationships between different IoT actors within this layered model.
