Abstract:
Stent embolization is a rare complication of percutaneous coronary intervention. It is encountered when a stent unintentionally dislodges from the balloon. Its consequences vary from bypass surgery to death if not treated adequately. To promote a successful outcome, the "twisted wire technique" is a rapid and effective method to recover the lost stent. Its practice can attenuate the non-wanted consequences. <Learning objective: An embolized stent can be a lethal complication of percutaneous coronary intervention. The "twisted wire technique" is an effective method to recover the lost stent, reducing unwanted consequences.>.
