Antibody-based CCR5 blockade protects Macaques from mucosal SHIV transmission

Leronlimab, a CCR5-specific antibody, demonstrated significant protection against simian-human immunodeficiency virus (SHIV) acquisition in macaques. Higher doses provided complete protection, suggesting CCR5 blockade is a promising HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis strategy.
