  • A gastrointestinal pathologist reviewed anatomopathological samples, with correlation assessed using the kappa coefficient index.

  • Of 3880 included cases, 206 showed ileal alterations (2.94% clinically significant).
  • Kappa index revealed low agreement: 0.067 among pathologists and 0.141 between pathologists and endoscopists.
  • Despite low concordance, patient outcomes were not adversely affected.

Conclusions:

  • Low concordance between pathologists and endoscopists in ileitis diagnosis was observed.
  • This highlights the importance of shared knowledge regarding anatomopathological changes for improved diagnosis and patient follow-up.
