Background:

  • Two scotomas were attributed to generalized cerebral hypoxia; one remained undefined.
  • Despite suspected striate region lesions, imaging revealed no abnormalities.

Implications:

  • Glare may contribute to paracentral scotoma development and resolution in some cases.
  • Persistent unexplained scotomas warrant further investigation despite negative neuroimaging.
  • Understanding the etiology of these visual field defects is crucial for patient management.
