Objective:
To evaluate the reliability and validity of WeChat addiction scale(WAS) in college students.
Methods:
A total of 1200 college students were selected by stratified handy sampling, and gender, age, objective and time of we-chat use, WAS, mobile phone addiction index scale(MPAIS) and Young internet addiction test(IAT). WAS has 12 items and 2 dimension.
Results:
There were two factors more than eigenvalue 1 though exploratory factor analysis, could be explain 62.31% of the total variance. The fit indexes of confirmatory factor analysis were χ~2/df≈3.116, P& lt; 0.001, TLI=0.918, CFI=0.934, RMSEA=0.061(0.050, 0.071), SRMR=0.047.The correlation coefficients among each factor of WAS, MPAIS and Young IAT were 0.242-0.380, and there were statistical significance. There were non-uniform DIF in item 5 and item 8.The Cronbach& apos; s α coefficient of WAS was 0.912(0.903, 0.921), and test-retest reliability was 0.718(0.579, 0.839). The delta coefficient was 0.956(0.951, 0.961).
Conclusion:
The reliability and validity were perfect for the revised WAS in college students. There was high questionnaire discrimination.
