Does Blood Pressure Variability Affect Hypertension Development in Prehypertensive Patients?

Short-term blood pressure variability (BPV) can predict hypertension development in prehypertensive individuals. Higher average real variability (ARV) in 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) and home measurements at baseline indicated increased risk.
