External Female Genitals

The vulva encompasses the external structures of the female reproductive system. At the forefront is the monpubis, a cushion of fatty tissue atop the pubic bone. Once puberty sets in, this area typically grows hair. Extending from just behind the mons pubis are the labia majora (labia = 'lips'; majora = 'larger'), which are larger skin fs olds coated with hair. Nestled within are the labia minora (labia = 'lips'; minora = 'smaller'), which are thinner, more pigmented, and hairless. While the...

Area of Science:

  • Regenerative Medicine
  • Aesthetic Gynecology
  • Plastic Surgery

Background:

  • The 360 Vaginal Beautification technique utilizes autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells and stromal vascular fraction for labia majora augmentation and vaginal tightening.
  • This approach leverages the regenerative capacity of autologous fat tissue.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the safety and efficacy of the 360 Vaginal Beautification technique for labia majora augmentation and vaginal tightening.
  • To assess patient satisfaction and changes in genital self-image following the procedure.

Main Methods:

  • Ninety-seven female patients underwent labia majora augmentation and vaginal tightening using the 360 Vaginal Beautification technique.
  • Complications were assessed postoperatively (early and late).
  • The Female Genital Self-Image Scale (FGSIS) was administered preoperatively and 6-12 months postoperatively.

Main Results:

  • Early complications like ecchymosis and tenderness resolved by the 7th postoperative day, with no significant infections, edema, lipomas, or granulomas.
  • Mean FGSIS scores significantly improved from 17.7 preoperatively to 20.9 at 6 months (p < 0.001) and 22.2 at 12 months (p = 0.013).

Conclusions:

  • The 360 Vaginal Beautification technique, using autologous fat transfer, is a safe and minimally invasive option for labia majora augmentation and vaginal tightening.
  • The procedure is associated with high patient satisfaction and significant improvement in genital self-image.
