Retraction: "Role of RKIP in human hepatic stellate cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis", by Quanfang Huang, Jinbin Wei, Ling Wei, Xiaolin Zhang, Facheng Bai, Shujuan Wen, Yuanyuan Wei, Shimei Tan, Zhongpeng Lu, and Xing Lin, J Cell Biochem. 2019; 6168-6177: The above article, published online on 10 October 2018 in Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jcb.27904) has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the journal's Editor in Chief, Prof. Dr. Christian Behl, and Wiley Periodicals LLC. The retraction has been agreed following an investigation based on allegations raised by a third party. The investigation was conducted by several experts into the accuracy of the data acquisition and concluded that inappropriate manipulation had taken place during Western blotting. Specifically, inconsistencies and duplicated image elements were found in figures 1A, 1B, 1D, 2C, 5D, and 6A. The authors disagree with this decision.

Somatic Spinal Reflexes
One of the most well-known somatic spinal reflexes is the stretch reflex, which is activated by the sudden stretching of a muscle. This reflex involves the activation of specialized sensory receptors called muscle spindles, which are located in the muscle tissue and detect changes in the length and speed of muscle contractions. When a muscle is suddenly...

Relaxation of Skeletal Muscles
When an action potential reaches the axon terminal, it depolarizes the membrane and opens voltage-gated sodium channels. Sodium ions enter the cell, further depolarizing the presynaptic membrane. This depolarization causes voltage-gated calcium channels to open....
