Surgical treatment of tachycardia in children

The results of surgical treatment of 79 children with supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias refractory to medical therapy gained at the Bakulev Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery are presented in this paper. In some patients tachycardia was associated with congenital heart disease. The goal of this study was: 1. To analyse surgical results in children with different variants of such congenital cardiac pathology as pre-excitation syndrome. 2. To substantiate possible radical elimination of uncommon variants of tachyarrhythmias.
