Abstract:
Our experience, gained in the sphere of blood extracorporeal detoxification suggests that since these procedures are being used on the increasing scale there is a necessity to improve continuously the perfusion equipment. New methods, employing complex combined and multistage techniques of blood treatment entail quantitatively new requirements to technical equipment. This work describes our experience in designing and developing technical devices starting from the unsophisticated apparatuses to the computer-assisted systems, intended for the multi-stage treatment of blood. Initially to carry out hemosorption the use was made of the ordinary perfusion with arterio-venous gradient (I). However, this simplified scheme could not be used on a large scale because of the difficulties encountered in the control of perfusion volume and rate. The proportioning pump, included in the scheme makes hemoperfusion more controllable as a process.
