[The saphenous artery in the human fetus]

Abstract:

Two hundred extremities of one hundred human fetuses aged from 18 to 34 weeks of the prenatal life were examined. Resorting to anatomical and radiological methods we observed a saphenous artery between the 4.5 and 7 month of fetal life. This artery appeared in three variations. It began to atrophy in the 7 month of the prenatal life.
