Purpose of the Study:
- To investigate the characteristics and risk factors associated with 35-day long COVID (35-LC) in healthcare workers over a one-year period.

- A retrospective cohort study was conducted at University Hospital of Bari, involving 5750 HCWs tested for SARS-CoV-2 exposure or symptoms.
- Positive HCWs were assessed for cardiovascular risk factors and respiratory conditions.

- Out of 352 infected HCWs, 168 developed 35-LC.
- Higher mean BMI (25.9 kg/m² vs. 24.8 kg/m²) was observed in the 35-LC group (p=0.020).
- Previous pulmonary disease (OR=3.7) and overweight (OR=1.6) were significant risk factors for developing 35-LC (p<0.05).
Conclusions:
- Long COVID poses a challenge for hospital management due to potential workforce reduction.
- High BMI and pre-existing pulmonary conditions are identified as risk factors for 35-LC in HCWs.
