Purpose of the Study:

  • To measure lens vault (LV) in healthy eyes using SS-OCT.
  • To investigate the correlation between LV and key ocular parameters.
  • To determine the clinical relevance of LV measurements in ophthalmology.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective study of 67 healthy Caucasian participants (mean age 41.9 ± 12.4 years).
  • Ocular measurements performed using the ANTERION SS-OCT device.
  • Parameters recorded: LV, anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), axial length (AL), white-to-white (WTW) distance, central corneal thickness (CCT), anterior chamber volume (ACV), and spur-to-spur (STS) distance.

Main Results:

  • Mean LV was 0.26 ± 0.23 mm.
  • Significant negative correlations found between LV and ACD (R=-0.80), AL (R=-0.36), and ACV (R=-0.68).
  • Significant positive correlations found between LV and LT (R=0.67) and age (R=0.53).
  • No significant correlation observed between LV and WTW, CCT, or STS.

Conclusions:

  • Lens vault (LV) demonstrates significant correlations with multiple ocular parameters.
  • LV measurement, alongside other ocular metrics, is recommended for clinical practice.
  • LV assessment may aid in diagnosis and planning of refractive surgeries.
