Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the correlation between intraoperative ECochG findings and hearing preservation in cochlear implant recipients.
  • To compare the hearing preservation outcomes associated with different electrode arrays (MidScala and SlimJ).

Main Methods:

  • Intraoperative ECochG was recorded from the apical electrode during insertion in 68 adult CI subjects.
  • Audiometric thresholds were measured preoperatively and one month postoperatively.
