  • To evaluate the efficacy of image score-based criteria as an educational tool for improving second-trimester fetal biometry quality.

  • Five sonographers underwent a one-hour educational session on image score-based criteria for fetal biometry parameters (BPD, HC, AC, FL, HL).
  • Biometry images from 15 pre- and 15 post-education examinations per sonographer were collected and evaluated using standardized criteria.
  • A total of 600 biometry images were assessed by an obstetrician sonologist, with pre- and post-education scores compared using paired t-tests.

Main Results:

  • A significant improvement in mean image scores was observed for all biometry parameters post-education.
  • Statistically significant improvements were noted for abdominal circumference (AC) (P = 0.01) and femur length (FL) (P = 0.002).
