Observation:

  • Two cases of SCC complicated by CNV were identified.
  • Multimodal imaging, including OCTA, was used for diagnosis.
  • Fundus examination revealed characteristic lesions with exudation.

Findings:

  • CNV diagnosis was confirmed via fluorescein angiography and OCTA.
  • Patients received ranibizumab injections over a six-year period.
  • Final best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) improved to 20/25 with CNV stabilization.

Implications:

  • SCC can present with or lead to CNV.
  • Intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy offers a viable treatment for CNV in SCC.
  • Prompt management can lead to significant visual recovery.
