Time and money: Exploring enhancements to performance validity research designs

Financial incentives and preparation time did not significantly improve simulated traumatic brain injury (TBI) detection in healthy adults. Novel TBI simulation designs offered minimal advantage over traditional coaching methods.

- Findings suggest current modifications may not substantially enhance the challenge of detecting simulated TBI in research settings.
