[A case of difficult diagnostic interpretation]

Left submandibular adenophlegmon was initially attributed to local dental disease. Recurrence of the symptoms when this was corrected, however, showed that E. coli was responsible, and suitalbe antibiotic management quickly led to a complete cure.
