Background:

Twenty20 (T20) cricket is a popular, fast-paced format with limited understanding of performance factors.
Expert performance in T20 cricket may be influenced by visual-motor control and oculomotor behavior.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate if oculomotor measures can predict batting and bowling performance in professional T20 cricket players.
To evaluate the role of visual-motor control in T20 cricket expertise.

Main Methods:

Cross-sectional study design involving 59 male T20 professional cricket players (30 bowlers, 29 batsmen).
Utilized eye-tracking tests to measure oculomotor behavior.
Correlated oculomotor data with batting and bowling performance metrics.

Main Results:

Several oculomotor eye-tracking measures significantly predicted batting performance metrics like run performance and strike rate.
Specific metrics also accurately predicted bowling performance, including runs conceded and wickets taken.
Eye-tracking measures like sports total score, on-field score, and functional score were key predictors.

Oculomotor measures are valuable predictors of performance in professional T20 cricket.
