Abstract:
Following the publication of the above article, an interested reader drew to the author's attention that Fig. 4 contained a duplication error, which arose during the assembly of the figure; specifically, the upper-left panel in Fig. 4, showing the result of the 'Control in 12 h' experiment, was inadvertently repeated with the 'Control in 48 h' panel. The corrected version of Fig. 4, showing the correct data for the 'Control in 12 h' experiment, is shown below. The authors can confirm that this error does not change either the interpretation or the original conclusions of this study. The authors are grateful to the Editor of International Journal of Molecular Medicine for granting them the opportunity to publish the Corrigendum, and all the authors agree with this correction. Furthermore, the authors apologize to the readership for any inconvenience caused. [the original article was published in International Journal of Molecular Medicine 32: 93‑100, 2013; DOI: 10.3892/ijmm.2013.1376].
Insights
A figure error in a molecular medicine study has been corrected. The correction involves a figure panel duplication and does not alter the study's original conclusions or interpretation.
Area of Science:
- Molecular Biology
- Cellular Biology
Context:
- A previously published study in the International Journal of Molecular Medicine reported findings on cellular processes.
- An error was identified in Figure 4 of the original publication.
Purpose:
- To correct a figure error in a published study.
- To ensure accurate data representation for the 'Control in 12 h' experiment.
Summary:
- Figure 4 contained a duplication error where the 'Control in 12 h' panel was mistakenly repeated as the 'Control in 48 h' panel.
- A corrected Figure 4 is provided, accurately displaying the data for the 'Control in 12 h' experiment.
- The authors confirm this correction does not impact the study's interpretation or conclusions.
Impact:
- Ensures the integrity and accuracy of the published scientific record.
- Provides the readership with the correct data visualization for the specific experimental condition.
- Maintains confidence in the study's findings and conclusions within the molecular medicine field.

Gastritis-II: Pathophysiology
In acute gastritis, the gastric mucosa becomes swollen and red and undergoes superficial erosion. Superficial ulceration may lead to bleeding.
In chronic gastritis, persistent or repeated insults lead to chronic inflammatory changes and, eventually, thinning or atrophy of the gastric tissue.
Gastritis can stem from various causes, each...
