Summary

Mega-joint prostheses are the gold standard in orthopedic surgery for limb preservation after tumor resection, enabling faster recovery. However, these advanced implants have a higher complication rate than traditional joint replacements.

They are considered the gold standard for reconstruction following joint and periarticular tumor and bone resections.

These implants allow for limb preservation and immediate weight-bearing, facilitating rapid functional recovery compared to amputation.
