Classically conditioned modulation of pain depends on stimulus intensity

Pain-associated cues can increase pain sensitivity, a phenomenon known as classically conditioned hyperalgesia. This study found that cue-induced hyperalgesia primarily affects more intense stimuli, suggesting stimulus intensity is a key factor.
