This study suggests 17 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators can improve human health impact assessments (HIAs) within environmental impact assessments (EIAs). These indicators quantify health impacts and integrate SDGs into EIA practices.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To identify relevant health-related SDG indicators for use as outcome indicators within EIA.
  • To explore the potential of SDG indicators for improving the quantification of human health impacts in EIA.

  • A review of health-related targets and indicators for SDGs, as defined by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).
