Utility of Screening Fetal Echocardiogram Following Normal Anatomy Ultrasound for In Vitro Fertilization Pregnancies

Screening fetal echocardiograms (F-echo) may not be necessary for in vitro fertilization (IVF) pregnancies if the obstetric scan shows normal fetal heart anatomy. Most abnormal findings on F-echo in these cases did not require intervention, suggesting a need to re-evaluate screening protocols.

- The interpretation subspecialty and completeness of OB-scan views did not significantly alter F-echo accuracy for normal findings.
- Cost-benefit analysis of routine screening F-echo in IVF pregnancies with normal OB-scans should be considered.
