Juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) patients with anti-NXP2 antibodies have a high risk of developing calcinosis, particularly if diagnosed early. Calcinosis is linked to poorer outcomes, though combinations of immunomodulatory and biologic drugs may halt its progression.
