Summary

Deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease (PD) can alter personality, particularly executive and social functioning. Patients with higher neuroticism and lower conscientiousness are more vulnerable to these changes after subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS).
