[Diagnostic protocol of toxoplasmosis in materno-fetal infections (1981-1984 statistics)]
The authors describe the most important methods in use for the laboratory diagnosis of toxoplasmosis, with special reference to the presence of IgM and to their significance in the diagnosis of acute infection. Statistics of tests carried out on pregnant women at the "Giovanni Lelli" Centre (Rome, Italy) during the years 1981-1984 are quoted. The recommended diagnostic protocol to be followed to prevent congenital infections is given.
