Response ot insulin by thymocytes of adrenalectomized and adrenalectomized-diabetic rats
Abstract:
Insulin receptors and he hormone action "in vitro" and "in vivo" on alpha-aminoisobutyric acid (AIB) uptake were studies on thymocytes from adrenalectomized and adrenalectomized-diabetic rats. The lack of insulin effect "in vitro" correlated with the absence of insulin receptors. Meanwhile the increase in AIB uptake produced by an injection of insulin suggest an indirect action of the hormone that could be the consequences of metabolic events.
