Summary

It is rare for patients with psoriasis to develop two oral autoimmune diseases. This case highlights a 30-year-old male with co-occurring vitiligo and oral lichen planus, successfully managed conservatively.

Background:

Autoimmune disorders can manifest as single or multiple lesions.
Co-occurrence of distinct autoimmune conditions in the oral cavity is uncommon.
Psoriasis is a common autoimmune condition with known oral manifestations.

Observation:

A 30-year-old male patient with a history of psoriasis presented with severe oral burning.
Clinical examination revealed the simultaneous presence of oral lichen planus and vitiligo.
This presentation represents a rare confluence of autoimmune diseases in the oral mucosa.

Findings:

The patient exhibited co-occurrence of vitiligo and oral lichen planus.
The patient had a preceding diagnosis and treatment for psoriasis.
Conservative management led to a favorable clinical response.

Implications:

This case underscores the importance of recognizing unusual co-manifestations of autoimmune diseases.
It suggests a potential link or shared pathway in the pathogenesis of these conditions.
Further research may elucidate the immunological mechanisms underlying concurrent oral autoimmune disorders in patients with psoriasis.
