Relationship Of Serum Adiponectin Levels With Glycaemic Status In Pregnant Women

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is linked to lower adiponectin levels in pregnant women. This study found that low adiponectin is associated with poor glycemic control in pregnancy.

- Serum adiponectin negatively correlated with FBG (r = -0.203, p=0.042) and HbA1c (r = -0.744, p=0.000) in women with GDM.
Conclusions:
- Serum adiponectin is markedly decreased in pregnant women diagnosed with GDM.
- Hypoadiponectinemia is associated with elevated glycemic status during pregnancy.
- Adiponectin levels show a significant negative correlation with FBG and HbA1c in this population.
