Background:

The severity of addiction disorders is clinically significant.
Investigating underlying variables is crucial for understanding addiction severity.

Purpose of the Study:

To explore factors influencing addiction disorder severity.
To examine the roles of temperamental disinhibition, emotion dysregulation, and interpersonal vulnerability.

Main Methods:

A sample of 502 individuals diagnosed with Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders was analyzed.
Structural equation modeling and a chained mediation model were employed.

Main Results:

Four factors were identified: temperamental disinhibition, emotion dysregulation, interpersonal vulnerability, and addictive disorder severity.
Emotion dysregulation and interpersonal vulnerability mediated the link between temperamental disinhibition and addiction severity.

Conclusions:

Findings enhance understanding of variables impacting addictive disorder severity.
Results provide crucial insights for developing targeted therapeutic interventions.
