Nursing Evaluation

The evaluation stage signals the end of the nursing process. The nurse gathers evaluative data to assess whether or not the patient has attained the expected results. Whereas the nurse collects data in the nursing assessment to identify the patient's health concerns, the evaluation stage data determines if the indicated health issues are resolved. Evaluative data collection includes two sections: the data acquired to evaluate patient outcomes and the time criteria for data collection.

Background:

Performance assessment is vital for quality improvement in healthcare organizations.
This study investigates the relationship between nurses' self-perceived performance and organizational well-being.

Purpose of the Study:

To correlate nursing performance levels with organizational well-being among Italian nurses.
To identify factors influencing nurses' professional engagement and satisfaction.

Main Methods:

An online questionnaire survey was administered to Italian nurses.
Nursing performance was assessed using the Six-Dimension on Nursing Performance questionnaire.
Organizational well-being was measured using the Questionnaire on Nursing Organization - brief form (QISO brief form).

Main Results:

Significant positive correlations were found between nursing performance dimensions (frequency subscale) and organizational well-being sub-dimensions (p<.001).
The Teaching/Collaboration dimension of nursing performance positively correlated with the QISO brief form results.

Conclusions:

Findings align with existing literature suggesting a link between performance and well-being.
Implementing reforms to foster an organizational culture of ownership and engagement is recommended.
Strategies for recruiting, attracting, and retaining engaged nurses are essential for enhancing healthcare services.
