Background:

Congenital ptosis can cause facial asymmetry and visual impairment.
The Crawford procedure using fascia lata is standard for ptosis correction but has recurrence due to graft slippage.
Modifications aim to reduce complications and improve outcomes.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate a modified Crawford's procedure for congenital ptosis correction.
To assess the effectiveness of improved anchorage in preventing recurrence.

Retrospective study of 26 patients with congenital ptosis.
All patients underwent a modified Crawford's procedure under general anesthesia.
The modification involved suturing the fascial sling to the tarsal plate.

Patients had poor levator function (mean 3 mm excursion) and moderate-to-severe ptosis.
