  • A scoping review methodology, following Arksey and O'Malley's five stages, was employed.
  • The review focused on Polish professional literature published between January 10, 2017, and March 31, 2022.

Main Results:

  • Only four studies met the inclusion criteria for the review.
  • The definitions proposed in the selected studies did not resolve the ambiguity surrounding health security and raised further questions.

Conclusions:

  • There is an urgent need for a broad, interdisciplinary discourse on the meaning of health security.
  • Future discussions should involve public health expertise and address contemporary challenges, personal dimensions, and international considerations.
