Laparoscopic partial cystectomy through extraperitoneal space for primary bladder schwannoma

• The mass was successfully removed via minimally invasive laparoscopic partial cystectomy through an extraperitoneal approach.

Findings:

• Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of bladder schwannoma, with positive S100 protein expression via immunohistochemistry.
• The patient experienced no tumor recurrence during a 2-year follow-up period, monitored by cystoscopy and CT scans.

Implications:

• Laparoscopic partial cystectomy through the extraperitoneal space is a safe and feasible surgical option for bladder schwannomas.
• This approach provides a minimally invasive alternative for managing rare benign bladder tumors.
