Genetic testing for chronic kidney disease (CKD) identified molecular diagnoses in 27% of individuals. A family history of kidney disease was more predictive of a positive genetic finding than clinical features alone.

- Findings support expanding access to genetic testing for CKD patients, especially those with family history, hematuria, or hearing loss.
