    Summary

    Primary amyloidosis can cause destructive bone lesions, primarily in long bones and joints. These amyloid bone tumors differ from multiple myeloma and can be diagnosed via aspiration.

    Background:

    • Radionuclide bone scans show significant uptake of 99mTc-PP in these lesions.
    • Distinguishing primary amyloidosis bone lesions from multiple myeloma is clinically possible.

    Implications:

    • Early recognition of amyloid bone tumors in primary amyloidosis is crucial.
    • Diagnostic aspiration of osteolytic infiltrates aids in differentiating from multiple myeloma.
    • Understanding the distinct pattern of bone involvement aids in diagnosis and management.
