Summary

Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) effectively diagnoses malignancy in mediastinal lymph nodes (MLN) for extrathoracic malignancies (EM). However, its negative predictive value is lower for head and neck cancers, and positive findings indicate a worse prognosis.
