Researchers characterized 5-hydroxy-N,N,N-trimethyl-tryptammonium (5-HTQ) iodide, a compound with a tryptammonium cation and iodide anion. Crystal structure analysis revealed infinite chains formed by N-H⋯I and O-H⋯I hydrogen bonds.
