A new web-based trauma nursing documentation application is feasible and satisfactory for nurses in Thailand. This electronic system shows promise for improving trauma care quality and monitoring.
Area of Science:
- Nursing Informatics
- Trauma Care Technology
- Health Information Systems
Background:
- Electronic nursing documentation offers benefits for monitoring and enhancing trauma care quality.
- Implementation of electronic nursing documentation remains limited in Thailand.
Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the feasibility and nursing satisfaction with a novel web-based trauma nursing documentation application.
- To explore the potential of digital tools in improving trauma nursing documentation practices.
Main Methods:
- A descriptive cross-sectional survey design was employed.
- The study involved registered nurses in trauma and emergency departments at a Thai hospital.
- Data collection utilized surveys and patient data extraction from the web application.
Main Results:
- 59 nurses piloted the application with 79 trauma patients.
- Nurses reported satisfaction with the application (Mean=3.51, SD=0.62).
- The application was deemed feasible for practical implementation (Mean=3.46, SD=0.79).
Conclusions:
- Preliminary findings indicate that the web-based application is feasible and satisfactory for nurses.
- The study supports the potential of this technology for trauma nursing documentation in emergency departments.
