Severe thrombosis and thrombocytopenia after COVID-19 vaccination were identified as vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT). Management with IV immunoglobulin and nonheparin anticoagulants improved outcomes, highlighting the role of anti-platelet factor 4 antibodies.
