Conclusions:

  • Despite motivations for companionship, brachycephalic cats showed lower playfulness and attention-seeking traits.
  • The intense care required by brachycephalic breeds may contribute to stronger owner bonds and separation behaviors.
  • Increased owner education on health issues and behavioral nuances is recommended for brachycephalic cat breeds.
