Acute lethal leptospirosis in a red fox (Vulpesvulpes)

Fatal leptospirosis, a bacterial zoonosis, was diagnosed in a red fox (Vulpes vulpes) in Croatia. This finding suggests foxes may transmit Leptospira interrogans serovar Icterohaemorrhagiae to other animals and humans.
